Peter Son Goetz

Violin teacher

Peter Son Goetz was born in 2001 in Marburg an der Lahn in a German-Vietnamese home, and received his first violin lessons at the age of just under eight. Since January 2017 he studied violin with Prof. Thomas Christian at the Detmold Musikhochschule, since April 2020 as a full student with Prof. Ulrike-Anima Mathé, in October 2022 he moved to Prof. Lena Neudauer at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz in Munich. He completed master classes with Frank Peter Zimmermann, Christoph Poppen, Edward Zienkowski, Andrzej Gębski and Konstanty Andrzej Kulka. After early successes in “Jugend musiziert” on the violin as well as on the piano, Peter Son Goetz won the national competition in Halle in 2019 as a violinist with the highest score, and in the same year he was accepted as a scholarship holder in the German National Academic Foundation. In 2021 he played the Dvorak Violin Concerto with the Bergische Symphoniker.
